Application Notes

*The GX.NET tools are embedded in the geogxnet.dll file located in the "...\Geosoft\Desktop Applications \bin" folder. If running this GX interactively, bypassing the menu, first change the folder to point to the "bin" directory, then supply the GX.NET tool in the specified format. See the topic Run GX for more details on running a GX.NET interactively.

The ASEG-ESF format intends to cover all Electrical methods data formats. It is an ASCII fixed field flat file that contains a header and a body. The header fully describes the type of survey.

The description of the ASEG-ESF file format can be found here: https://www.aseg.org.au/sites/default/files/FORMAT_FOR_EXCHANGE_OF_ELECTRICAL_SURVEY_DATA_Ver001.pdf

  • With the licensed version of Oasis montaj, the import adheres to the format in the above document. If you would like to import IP data that does not follow the format, yet still identify it as an IP database, import it using the ASCII Import, clearly identifying the array data. Then, use the "IP / Process / Setup database for IP" to validate, if all the mandatory IP channels are in the database.
