Add/Modify Data IP (1/3) - Data Source
This same tool is used to add data to VOXI the first time, and to subsequently modify it.
Use Data > Add Data on the VOXI Manager tree to add a database containing the observed IP data for the geophysical modelling .
Subsequently, to modify the data of an existing VOXI IP document use Data > Data Source > Modify.
Data Source dialog options
Database file |
You will be prompted to provide the database containing the observed data. This database should have a defined projection and assigned X,Y,Z channels. |
Configuration |
Define if this is a Dipole-Diploe, Pole-Dipole or Pole-Pole survey. The coordinates of the far electrodes need not be defined. |
Electrode location |
If the data has been collected with all electrodes on the surface you should select At Surface and you will not be prompted for the Z component for the electrodes. The Electrodes are then assumed to be located on the DEM surface. If some of the electrodes are located Below surface the Z component for all the electrodes has to be supplied. By default the electrodes are assumed to be at surface. |
Transmitter 1 Tab |
The coordinates of the 1st transmitter. Required for all IP configurations. |
Transmitter 2 Tab |
The coordinates of the 2nd transmitter. In the case of Pole-Dipole and Pole-Pole configurations this tab will not appear. |
Receiver 1 Tab |
The coordinates of the 1st receiver. Required for all IP configurations. |
Receiver 2 Tab |
The coordinates of the 2nd receiver. In the case of Pole-Pole configurations this tab will not appear. |
Transmitter current |
|
Data source |
The current can be provided in a database channel or if it is missing from the database, as a constant value. |
Current channel | Constant value |
This entry in contextual relative to the above selection. The current is provided in Amps. If it is in any other units, please scale the data accordingly. |
Application Notes
Once you have specified the data, click Next to proceed to the Measurements dialog. Use the Measurements dialog to define the data type and measurement fields in your database.
