SEG-Y Disk Format Options
SEG-Y Reader can read most files that adhere loosely to the SEG-Y rev. 1 format specification. Upon opening a file, the binary and trace headers are be scanned for format specifications information. In the SEG-Y Format Options topic, you have the option of changing the formats used to interpret the file.
Text header
- ASCII or EBCDIC header format
Byte ordering used to write the file
- Big Endian or Little Endian byte order
Trace data formats
- IBM Float (4-byte)
- IEEE Float (4-byte)
- Fixed (4-byte)
- Fixed (2-byte)
- Fixed (1-byte)
Use the Text Header Viewer to examine the text header.
Use the Binary Header Viewer to examine the binary header.
Use the TraceViewer to examine the trace headers and traces, and change the trace data format.
