Configuring Logging

Logging workflows require that the following objects be defined:

  • Lists. Lists are at the heart of the data captured in your MX Deposit account. Lists support consistent naming conventions that everyone uses across various projects. For example, when logging core data, the list definition ensures everybody is using the same rock type codes and geological terms. See the Lists topic.
  • Headers. Headers contain location information for an activity, such as its unique ID and the collar information. In the logging workflow, the header is the form that's completed when a new drillhole/point is created, before logging starts. See the Headers and Fields topic.
  • Tables. Tables are where the majority of data collection takes place. Tables can be made up of columns that can be text, numbers, checkboxes, files and, if you have a Seequent Imago account, Imago core imagery. See the Tables topic.

Once lists, headers and tables are configured, you can use the activity builder to bring all these elements together into either a drilling activity or a point activity. In the activity itself, the lists, header and tables can be customised to suit the activity’s unique circumstances. Building activities in this way has the advantage of preserving the master list, header and table configurations at the library level so they can be used in multiple activities without spreading activity-specific customisations to other activities. See the Activities topic.
