3D Viewer - Imports Menu

The Add to 3D > Imports menu in the 3D Viewer includes the following import formats:

  • AutoCAD DXF File(s) - Use the Import AutoCAD DXF File(s) dialog (IMPORTDXF3D GX) to display DXF file(s) in a 3D view or import DXF file(s) into a Geosurface file. A new Geosurface file can be created or the DXF can be appended to an existing Geosurface file.

  • MapInfo TAB or MIF File(s) - Use the MapInfo Import dialog (IMPORTMI GX) to import a MapInfo TAB or MIF file into the current 3D view.

  • ArcView Shape File(s) - Use the ArcGIS Shapefile dialog (IMPORTARC GX) to import an ArcView Shape file into the current 3D view.

  • ArcGIS LYR File - Use the Add ArcGIS LYR File to Map dialog (IMPORTLYR GX) to add a LYR file into the current 3D view. This functionality is only available on systems where a licensed copy of the ArcGIS ArcView or the ArcGIS ArcEngine exists.

  • Microstation DGN File(s) - Use the Microstation DGN Import dialog (IMPORTDGN GX) to import a Microstation DGN file into the current 3D view. This import does NOT support the newer DGN V8 format.

  • Maxwell Plate - Use the Import Maxwell Plate file dialog (IMPMAXPLATE GX) to import a Maxwell Plate model description file into the current 3D view.

  • Datamine DM File(s) - Use the Datamine File Import dialog (IMDATAMINE GX) to import a Datamine (*.dm) file into the current 3D view.

  • Surpac STR or DTM File(s) - Use the Surpac STR and DTM File Import dialog (IMPSURPAC GX) to import a Surpac STR or DTM file into the current 3D view.

  • GOCAD Surface(s) - Use the Import GOCAD Surface(s) dialog (IMPORTGOCADSURFACE GX) to display GOCAD t-surface file(s) in a 3D view or import the file(s) into a Geosurface file. A new Geosurface file can be created or the GOCAD file(s) can be appended to an existing Geosurface file.

  • Micromine File - Use the Micromine Import dialog (MICROMINE GX) to import Micromine files into the current 3D view.

  • Gemcom File - Use the Gemcom Import dialog (GEMCOM GX) to import Gemcom files into the current 3D view.

  • Minesight File - Use the Minesight Import dialog (MINESIGHT GX) to import Minesight files into the current 3D view.

  • UBC DCINV2D/IPINV2D Files - Use the Import UBC DCINV2D/IPINV2D Files dialog (IMPORTUBC2D GX) to convert UBC DCIP2D conductivity and chargeability files to Geosoft Grid files and display them into the current 3D view.

  • Vulcan Triangulation File(s) - Use the Import Vulcan Triangulations File(s) dialog (IMPORTVULCANTRIANGULATION GX) to display a Vulcan Triangulation in a 3D view or import a Vulcan Triangulation into a Geosurface file. A new Geosurface file can be created or the Vulcan Triangulation can be appended to an existing Geosurface file.

  • Leapfrog Model File - Use the Import Leapfrog Model File dialog (IMPORTLEAPFROGMODEL GX) to import a Leapfrog Model file into a Geosurface file. A new Geosurface file can be created or the Leapfrog Model file can be appended to an existing Geosurface file.
